INSPIRATION
This fine art print began with a collagraph plate I created years ago in a printmaking workshop. Like the ancient stones that inspired it, time was needed before I could bring it back to life with fresh eyes and new artistic experience.
I have always been captivated by Neolithic marks left on the landscape - rock art carved into ancient stones and stone circles that maintain their atmosphere across thousands of years. These communities left monuments that continue to speak across millennia.
Recently teaching on a workshop motivated me to revisit this old plate, using inks of different viscosities to reveal textures that lay dormant - much like the stories waiting in the stones themselves, stories they might tell if the stones could indeed talk.
