INSPIRATION
"Distant Isle" is the sixth print in a variable edition seascape that combines monotype and collagraph techniques. This reproduction revitalizes the original collagraph with luminous monotype underlayers. A found fishing net from the Isle of Bute adds texture and reflects environmental issues related to plastic waste. The piece is inspired by St. Cuthbert's Way and views of Lindisfarne Castle, honoring Northumbria's landscape and early Christian history. The net subtly prompts reflection on the beauty and fragility of nature.
