INSPIRATION

A variable edition monotype/collagraph by Carol Nunan. Few sounds stop you in your tracks like the call of a curlew on a coastal walk. This print was conceived on a walk along the Northumberland coast, though the scene is equally at home on the Isle of Bute — the stone wall, the headland, the wide sky. A flock sweeps in from the left, mid-flight. Printed from a split collagraph plate, each version in the edition carries its own distinct energy.
