Sycamore Gap — A Tree Remembered

Long before the shocking events of September 2023, I had walked the crags above Hadrian's Wall many times and felt the pull of that solitary sycamore. These prints were made from life and from memory — some from the famous view along the Roman Military Road, others from the less travelled north side of the wall, looking south across the crags. A few capture the tree under Northumberland's celebrated dark skies. They exist now as a record of something irreplaceable. New variants are still being added to the editions, including work incorporating the curlew — the symbol of the Northumberland National Park and a constant presence on the wind above the wall. Available as originals, limited edition giclées, greeting cards, glass coasters and open edition prints.
