LIVE demos on my Facebook Business Page Carol Nunan Printmaker

Being An Artist In The Time of Covid-19 continued

I’ve been doing a series of LIVE collagraph demonstrations from my Facebook page since Thursday of last week. Up until yesterday I was taking a plate (samples I made for workshops or plates I’ve cut down to a smaller size) to demonstrate the use of different materials and to give an insight into the inking techniques I use in the production of my prints.

Today’s video was a demonstration on making a plate using the materials I had to hand - we’re in self isolation until the end of the day tomorrow; my son, who has come back to live with us during the lockdown presented with mild Covid-19 symptoms - could have been a simple cough but we’re taking no chances.

The materials I used today were:

  1. Mount board

  2. PVA - happened to be water washable - my preference would have been water proof PVA

  3. A selection of textured wallpapers

  4. Scrap tissue

  5. A scalpel and scissors

  6. Brushes

  7. Dish for PVA/paint

  8. Acrylic paint

Enjoy. I’d love to hear what you think. I’m using this time to see what interest there may be for online printmaking workshops and in person ones once we get released from our incarceration.
